Thanks to social networks, artists of all ages can share their work with the world. Through platforms like Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, the creative younger and older can become glorious, whether it’s a teen painter, a technologically creative old woman, or an 8-year-old child of miracle like Yooyka Soma.
Joyka showed interest in drums when she was only 2 years old! By the time she was 4 years old, she performed at concerts with her family’s band and now, after her audition for the Udar Play as a girl became viral, she is an online sensation. In a 3-minute video she makes a cover of the song “Good Times Bad Times” by Led Zeppelin showing her amazing drumming skills. Only when you notice her socks with dots will you realize how small she is. If you just listened to the video, you would think that it was an experienced drummer in his 40’s or 50’s.
Although she is only 8 years old, Joyka is extremely ambitious. “I want to be artists who can do everything: to play all the instruments, to record music, mix the sound and design packages for CDs,” she explains at her audition. “And I want to be the best female drummer.”
Although she did not win the competition, her incredibly inspiring video brought her great Internet fame. Even lead vocalist Led Zeppelin, Robert Plent, praised the ease with which he performed. See also his reaction to this video.
