The online petition for the abolition of Article 50 and the annulment of Bregsit has attracted great interest and has so far been signed by five million people. This is a record number of collected signatures through a petition, although it is only active since February this year.
The record number arrived shortly after nearly a million people took to the streets of London to seek a second referendum on Bregsit.
Due to the popularity of the petition, the British Parliament’s website has collapsed several times, and the biggest signing interest has been since last Wednesday until after Prime Minister Theresa May sought the support of the people.
According to the map, the people of London, as well as from Warwick, Canterbury, Oxford and Cambridge, are most interested in the petition, where a large proportion of the population is students and young people under 25 years of age.
