People in quarantine, animals reign on the streets

In some countries where a strict no-exit ban has been introduced, such as Italy, Thailand and Japan, nature has begun to “strike back”.

Millions of people worldwide are in isolation or quarantine as part of measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Now that people are locked up at home and there are no cars on the streets and roads, no boats and cruises in the bays and ports, there is simply no noise and congestion – animals roam the streets where forests and pastures once ran.

In the city of Nara, Japan, there are deer on the streets, monkeys in Thailand, and wild pigs, horses, sheep have come out in several cities in Italy.
